Everyone a winner. Lap of honour. Winner takes all. Nothing succeeds like success.
These phrases embody champions.
So, it was only appropriate that the event, previously known as “TMCC Annual Prize Presentation” was renamed “Champions Dinner & Prize Presentation” to accurately reflect the social event’s celebration of champions of golf and sports.
Consequently, the winning feeling was infectious, for everyone you ran into at the event on Sunday, 22 October at the Tampines course had a winning story.
The glory list seemed endless for it was a gathering of the winners for all golf and sports events throughout the year.
Memories were rekindled for mention of the past events retold stories of success. And almost all of them did not remember the dates, but the moments. In the tapestry of a perfect night dedicated to celebrating the champions of the year, a video montage showcasing the journeys and triumphs of past year’s winners not only enlivened the awards night but also ignited exciting conversations among the attendees.
Calvin Goh talked about the Men’s medal of Medals, Gilliam Sim remembered the Ladies’ Medal of Medals.
For Norlia Embong, the Ladies Matchplay Championship came to mind and the duo of Christopher Chiu and Melvin Choo relished talk of the Chairman’s Prize.
Dion Lim reminisced about her Ladies Strokeplay Championship and Raymond Lee replayed moments of his Men’s Senior Strokeplay Championship victory.
And it was not only all about golfers, for Atticus Soh, the Most Improved Swimmer, and Darryl Chow, the Swimmer of the Year, had their own stories from the pool.
Of course, the day’s winners from a total of 92 members were feted appropriately with Brian Sim and Kiefer Sim claiming the 2-Person Scramble golf competition, each winning a Srixon Luggage Bag for their net 61 score on the Tampines Course.
For the Novelty section, Jen Goh was congratulated for her two Nearest The Pin prizes on Holes 4 and 6.
Calvin Goh had luck on his side for the top prize in the 10-draw Lucky Draw Segment, winning a Callaway Utility Cover.
Amidst a cacophony of noise and clapping thunder, Club President Ronald Ong graced the occasion.
And the mood was perfectly set up by the live band Memory Lane, who stirred many minds with renditions that took all Down Memory Lane.
