Among the Rose wines were Whispering Angel and Rock Angel.
If those were not giveaways that it was an Easter function, then the activities centred on Easter Egg Hut and Easter Egg Race underlined that.
So, while Easter was celebrated in many ways here and abroad, Tanah Merah Country Club did it its way by hosting an Easter Carnival and BBQ event at the Garden Sports Complex on April 9, a day before the Christian festival.

Of the 43 participants, 14 were kids; and this brought about a buzz as the children were deeply involved in the activities.

The activities involved Easter Egg Hut where children had to explore and comb through a given search parameter for eggs and the scores added up to form a winner.
Then the Easter Egg Race saw children taking part in a race using a spoon to ferry 20 mini eggs to a bucket and the fastest team won.
Interspersed with three sessions of live band performances by Memory Lane) and BBQ were the introduction and distribution of Rose wines by Château d’Esclans, namely “The Pale”, followed by “Whispering Angel” and “Rock Angel”.
The special guest speaker Benjamin Smadja, a certified sommelier representing Château d’Esclans in Asia, explained what the wines were all about.
The adults had an excellent opportunity to taste these exquisite wines made from grapes exclusively from the vineyards of Château d’Esclans where they were served three glasses each of the Rose wines to savour.
The sumptuous BBQ spread at the Live Station were Sambal Sotong and Chicken Satay, Salmon Yakitori, Erdinger Beef Goulash, Buttered Corn, Roasted Potatoes and Carrots.

As the event draws closer to an end, the long-awaited lucky draw segment seals the night with a bang. There were five lucky draw prizes, and the top prize was a Dufferin Pool Cue worth $168 followed by the second prize of a bottle of Château d’Esclans Les Clans Rose worth $128.
