Husband-and-wife team of Simon Chew and Jasmine Chew clinched the two-ball scramble Tanah Merah Country Club’s Social Event at the Garden course on Aug 27.
Staunch supporters of club golf at TMCC golf, it was fitting that the pair claimed the honours in the event where precedence was put on fun than in competition.
The Chews endorsed that feeling for they enjoyed the fun element than the competition among the nine flights on a perfect day at the Garden.
Simon and Jasmine with a handicap of 12.0 and 7.9 respectively, edged out Nico Mo and Wayne Goh with 30 nett, the runners-up ending with 30.5 nett.
Finishing third were Zhong Ming and Teng Cheng Shun on 30.8 nett.
Jasmine also won the ‘Nearest To Pin prize on Hole 2, while Nico was closest on the par-three Hole 7.
Jasmine also obliged with the presentation of prizes at the lucky draw prior to Club Captain Goh Hoon Pur greeting all the 36 participants at the dinner.
Longtime member Melvin Choo, a notable sponsor at many events, generously donated three bottles of French Red Wine and a bottle of Champagne for the lucky draw.
Lucky draw items also included merchandise from the Golf Shop.
The food spread for the Makan Kechil was exceptional with a delectable combination of succulent Chicken Satay and flavourful Prawn Paste Chicken. Additionally, the menu included a mouthwatering Seafood Hor Fun and a delicious Super Supreme Pizza.
The gathering was a great mix — from juniors and younger players to ladies and league players alike – and this brought about friendship and camaraderie that will be cherished by the players.
It was certainly an amazing night of fun and excitement that will be treasured by the attendees.
