Design Meets Distinction: TMCC Unveils Bespoke Course Furnishings to Enhance the Golfing Experience

Ryan Chia

At Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC), excellence is not a destination. It is a constant pursuit. With its two distinguished courses — the serene, colourful charm of the Garden Course and the strategic boldness of the Tampines Course — TMCC has long been a byword for prestige in Southeast Asian golf.

Now, in a move that blends tradition with contemporary refinement, the Club has unveiled a full suite of new course furnishings. These items are custom designed, meticulously sourced, and positioned to elevate every step of the golfing journey.

These enhancements are far from cosmetic. They represent TMCC’s unwavering dedication to providing its members and guests with an immersive experience that balances functionality with refined aesthetics. This approach acknowledges that the soul of golf lies not only in the swing, but in the setting.

A Cohesive Upgrade Across Both Courses

From tee to green, every hole at both the Garden and Tampines Courses now features the Club’s new furnishings. This complete suite brings visual harmony and elevated comfort across the landscape.

Tee Markers on All Holes

Tee markers, crafted in cast bronze, now define the start of each hole with an elegant and enduring presence. These bespoke pieces, emblazoned with the TMCC emblem, lend a sense of ceremony to each tee-off while subtly nodding to the Club’s heritage.

Kirby Fairway Markers on All Holes

Kirby fairway markers, installed at 100m, 150m, 200m, and 250m distances, ensure practical guidance without sacrificing aesthetics. These are the only pieces that do not carry the club logo, yet their precision and clarity reflect the Club’s commitment to playability.

New Pin Flags

Premium pin flags have also been introduced, combining performance and presentation. Supplied under the Prestige brand via Centaur, each flagstick now includes a built-in prism for enhanced rangefinder compatibility. The flags themselves offer improved durability.

Closed-lid Thrash Bins on All Holes

A notable enhancement to course hygiene and tidiness comes in the form of closed trash bins, now placed on every hole. Designed with flaps to deter birds, sea otters and monkeys, these bins provide a sleek and practical solution for maintaining the pristine environment.

Practical Touches with a Luxurious Finish

Functionally Designed Sand Funnel Refill Station
Starter Podium at 1st Tee of the Tampines Course

One of the most quietly transformative additions is the sand funnel refill station. These waterproof, well-placed units allow players to refill divot sand conveniently while ensuring the contents remain dry during tropical downpours or irrigation cycles. The stations are now positioned at key transition points. On the Garden Course, they can be found at the 1st tee, 5th halfway hut, 10th halfway hut, and 13th tee. On the Tampines Course, they are located at the 1st tee, 7th halfway hut, and 10th tee.

Meanwhile, the starter podium at the 1st tee of the Tampines Course serves both a functional and ceremonial purpose. It provides the Starter with protection from the elements while enhancing the arrival experience for each group. The podium offers a sense of structure and welcome that sets the tone for the round ahead.

More Than Furniture

For members and guests, these enhancements are already making an impression. Not through grand gestures, but in the finer details that define the very best clubs in the world.

Next time you step onto the Garden or Tampines Course, look closer. The subtle elegance underfoot, beside the fairway, or atop the green is more than an improvement. It is a statement. TMCC has raised the bar once again, with quiet confidence and enduring class.
