Fields Confirmed for 2025 World Amateur Team Championships

International Golf Federation

The 36 men’s and 36 women’s teams that will represent their countries in the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships (WATC) in Singapore have been finalised.

The women’s teams will compete for the Espirito Santo Trophy from 1-4 October and the men will play for the Eisenhower Trophy from 8-11 October 2025. The Championships will take place at the Tanah Merah Country Club (Tampines Course).

Teams that finished in the top 10 in the 2023 WATC were automatically accepted into the field, as was the host country, Singapore. The remainder of the field was filled based on the World Amateur Golf Ranking® / WAGR® of the two top players from each country.

Continental places assured a minimum representation of teams from all regions: Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

With the finalisation of the fields, the national federation members are now invited to nominate the players, team captain and coach/manager for their respective teams. Each country is represented by a team of two to three players, featuring the world’s leading amateurs. The Championships are played over 72 holes of stroke play.

“We are thrilled that the Championships will be held in Singapore for the first time – a historic moment for the country and a significant milestone for international amateur golf.” said Annika Sorenstam, President of the International Golf Federation who represented Sweden at the 1990 and 1992 WATC.

“A significant number of the world’s leading golfers had the honour of representing their countries at the World Amateur Team Championships—among them, approximately 70 percent of the athletes who competed at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. We eagerly anticipate witnessing the exceptional talent that will be showcased in Singapore this October and extend our sincere appreciation to the Singapore Golf Association for its outstanding efforts in preparing for the Championships.”

The Republic of Korea won the women’s Espirito Santo Trophy in 2023 while the men’s team from the United States of America took home the Eisenhower Trophy.
