For many years, Members at TMCC received a physical birthday card in the post, a thoughtful gesture that marked a personal milestone and symbolised the Club’s appreciation. It was a small but meaningful way to celebrate each Member, offering a tangible reminder of their valued place within the Club community.
In July 2024, this long-standing tradition took a positive digital turn. In line with the Club’s commitment to digitalisation, the E-Birthday Card was introduced as an initiative to enhance convenience while preserving the thoughtful spirit that made the physical cards so well loved. Delivered directly to Members’ email inboxes, the E-Birthday Card offers a suite of exclusive privileges designed to help Members celebrate their birthdays in style and with ease.
Principal Members who receive the E-Birthday Card enjoy a generous package of birthday privileges. These include a complimentary weekday guest green fee voucher, along with a bottle of wine and a special dessert at the Garden View Restaurant, valid for dine-in only. This allows Members to share the joy of celebration and their birthday experience with guests, both on the course and at the table.
Spouse Members are also recognised on their birthdays with a bottle of wine and a special dessert at the Garden View Restaurant, also valid for dine-in only. This thoughtful inclusion reflects the Club’s appreciation for the wider Member family and its ongoing commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive experience.
Twelve months on, the E-Birthday Card programme has been met with an enthusiastic response. Since its launch, a significant number of birthday vouchers have been redeemed, with approximately 40% of active golfing Members benefiting from this exclusive privilege by redeeming the complimentary weekday guest green fee voucher. The complimentary weekday guest green fee voucher is also transferable to the spouse, offering added flexibility in how the privilege can be used.
In addition to golf-related perks, the birthday e-card has also seen encouraging uptake in the F&B space, with many Members and Spouses redeeming it for wine when dining in at the Garden View Restaurant. Approximately 44% of active Members and 16% of Spouses have enjoyed this F&B celebratory benefit.
This level of engagement highlights both the value of the privileges on offer and the appreciation Members have shown in embracing the new format. At the same time, there remains room for wider participation and greater utilisation across the membership as the Club continues to encourage more Members to enjoy these exclusive birthday benefits.
The E-Birthday Card is emailed to Members on the first day of their birthday month and remains valid for three months — the birthday month plus the following two months.
The move from paper to digital was made with careful deliberation and foresight. It allows the Club to maintain the same quality of service in a more environmentally conscious and efficient way, while offering Members a flexible and user-friendly method to redeem their privileges.
By highlighting the positive response to these birthday rewards, the Club hopes to demonstrate the real and lasting impact of the initiative. These are not merely vouchers but experiences that reflect the spirit of camaraderie and celebration at the heart of TMCC.
All Members are encouraged to take full advantage of their E-Birthday Card privileges. Whether enjoying a delicious meal at the Garden View Restaurant or sharing a round of golf with a guest, these vouchers are designed to make birthday celebrations truly special. Don’t miss the opportunity to redeem the benefits within the three-month validity period and create memorable moments with family and friends.
