The red carpet was rolled out, the lights twinkled, and Tanah Merah Country Club welcomed 2026 in full glamour at the Hollywood Bollywood New Year’s Eve Countdown Party at the Tampines Banquet Room.

You didn’t have to be a Bollywood star or a Hollywood legend to shine that night. Guests embraced the theme with full gusto, dressing up as celebrities from both worlds. Sequins, glitter, dramatic gowns, and sharp tuxedos filled the ballroom as the chatter and laughter of excited members and their guests set the scene for an unforgettable evening.

This year’s party saw the highest participation yet, with close to 200 members and their guests joining in the festivities, making it a truly spectacular celebration.

The festivities kicked off with cocktails in the pre-function area, where guests posed at the instant-print photo booth with fun props and made their way under the dazzling LED-lit TMCC NYE25 lightbox and balloon-sculpted entrance arch. Each guest received a party glitter hat and LED light wand, adding an extra touch of celebration to the night.

Emcee Ross Sarpani kept the energy high from the start, welcoming everyone and getting the crowd involved in a spirited ice-breaker cheer-off. Laughter and friendly rivalry filled the room as the winning team took home bottles of fine wine, setting a lively tone for the evening.

Dinner was accompanied by the dynamic sounds of Shagies, a six-piece live band that has been entertaining Singapore audiences since 1987. Familiar to many members, Shagies delivered a lively mix of dance, pop, and rock hits from timeless classics to contemporary chart-toppers, keeping feet tapping and spirits high throughout the night.

The evening was also filled with excitement as members tried their luck in the 24-prize lucky draw. Events & Marketing Convenor Mr Benny Tay presented the first half of prizes, while Club President Mr Ronald Ong took over to announce the second half, much to the delight of all. From smaller surprises to the grand top prizes, there was something for everyone, and the room buzzed with cheers and laughter with each draw.

Among the General Committee (GC) members in attendance were: Mr Ho Beng Huat (Honorary Senior Advisor), Mr Ronald Ong (Club President), Dr Goh Hoon Pur (Captain), Mr Chan Kok Seong (Treasurer), and Mr Benny Tay (Events & Marketing Convenor), all of whom mingled with guests and added to the festive atmosphere.

Guests enjoyed a mix of games and interactive activities between the lucky draws, with the Emcee ensuring the dance floor was never empty. Shagies’ high-energy performances, paired with DJ tracks in between, kept the celebration lively and engaging.

As midnight approached, the excitement in the room reached its peak. Ross Sarpani led guests to the dance floor with confetti poppers at the ready, and GC members joined in the countdown. Then, 10… 9… 8… HAPPY NEW YEAR! The confetti flew, cheers erupted, and the ballroom sparkled with joy as 2026 officially arrived.

The celebration continued with music and a late-night Teochew supper, giving everyone a chance to relax and enjoy the final moments of the night.

The Hollywood Bollywood New Year’s Eve Countdown Party was a night of glamour, music and fun, one that will be remembered fondly by all who celebrated the start of 2026 at Tanah Merah Country Club.
