Dear Fellow TMCC Members,
I am thrilled to introduce you to our 2023 InterClub League Team (ICL), which has been chosen to defend the prestigious title we won last year.
As you read this message, the team has already completed 4 of the 6 Gross Stableford legs of the ICL, and I am proud to announce that TMCC is currently holding the second place out of ten participating clubs.
This year, the ICL has adopted a hybrid format that combines both Gross Stableford and match play. After the completion of the 6 legs, the top 4 teams will enter a knockout match play format, with the first seed facing the fourth seed and the second seed playing the third seed. The unpredictable weather we have been experiencing has played a significant role, causing many of the divisions to abandon their legs. Fortunately, our dedicated ladies’ team has completed most of their rounds. As one of the strongest groups in Singapore, our ladies have been instrumental in securing our current position.
We are hopeful that the team will finish strong and bring good news to all TMCC members. In the spirit of unity, I would like to express my gratitude to several groups of people. First, I want to thank the league team members for their commitment to our club and their passion for the sport, as demonstrated by their dedication to the demanding league schedule. I also appreciate the unwavering support from the club’s management, committees and in particular our Club Captain, Goh Hoon Pur, whose steadfast leadership and unwavering support have made him a true pillar of strength for the team.
A special thanks goes to our four generous sponsors, who are also fellow TMCC members: Tan Teck Kee, Ju Kai Meng, Kevin Ma, and Ken Kuik. Your trust in the team and your continued support have been invaluable. Together, we emphasize that this is a team effort, and we take pride in doing our best to represent TMCC.
Drawing from my experiences participating in the league for several years and visiting other clubs, I have come to appreciate the unique qualities that TMCC offers and its distinction as the best member’s club in Singapore. Our top- notch facilities, championship golf course, balanced golfer-to-course ratio, and most importantly the warm, inviting atmosphere among members are all aspects that we can be truly grateful for. It is my hope that as a club, we can work together to preserve and nurture these values.
