The 2023 Singapore Golf Association (SGA) Annual Gala and Awards dinner took place at the Grand Ballroom, Orchid Country Club, where an assemblage of industry stakeholders, squad members, juniors, staff, and officials convened on the evening of November 15, 2023, to commemorate the eventful 2022/2023 golf season.
This event served as a platform to honour and commend the accomplishments of players and acknowledge the significant contributions of key figures in the golfing industry.

Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC) received the prestigious accolade of the “Best New Golf Event of the Year in 2022” for hosting the highly anticipated debut of the Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open at Tampines Course in December last year.
Representing TMCC to receive the award was General Manager Elliott Gray.
TMCC has a long tradition of hosting international golf tournaments and have in the past hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic, Lexus Cup, HSBC Women’s Champions and the most recent Asian Tour’s International Series Singapore in October 2023.
This award is particularly significant as the Club gears up for more international events such as the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC), a biennial international amateur golf competition slated to be held in 2025 at Tanah Merah Country Club, Tampines Course.

The evening also marked the introduction of Liang Wenchong, renowned as the first mainland Chinese to claim the esteemed Asian Tour Order of Merit title in 2007, as the newest golf ambassador for the SGA.
James Leow clinched the title of “Male Golfer of the Year”, while Aloysa Atienza secured the “Female Golfer of the Year” award. Daryl Low and Chen Xingtong received accolades as the Male Junior Golfer and Female Junior Golfer of the Year, respectively.
