TMCC Tie Up A Partnership With Japan’s Shinwa Golf Group

Golf in Japan is big. And the golf courses in the country exemplify this. The courses are aplenty, beautiful and take in panoramic views from any angle.

For most periods of the year, the weather is perfect, although there are times when you have to ensure that you have the proper attire to bear the cold.

Among Japan’s famous golfers are Isao Aoki, Jumbo Ozaki and Shingo Katayama, all of who have plied their professional trade in the United States. And the current rave is Hideki Matsuyama, who is a Major winner and a world-leading player.

So links with the country which
has its own Japan Golf Tour Organisation tournaments is something many countries and clubs would want to seek for. One way to do that is to have an affiliation or reciprocal rights with Japanese clubs, for which they can be selective.

So, it is a coup that Tanah Merah Country Club has tied up a partnership with Shina Golf Group, a club based in Kyoto.

The purposes of the affiliate partnership with Shinwa Golf Group, strengthened when a team from the Kyoto club visited TMCC on March 22, are:

  • To promote friendship and business through the game of golf.
  • To promote the relationship between both clubs.
  • To provide added value for all members.

On the same day, the official signing ceremony of the reciprocal agreement between TMCC and Shinwa Golf Group was completed.

Previously, the agreement was signed virtually.

There was a game among golfers from both clubs to coincide with the official signing on March 22.

The venue was the Garden course because it has a close relationship with Robert Trent Jones, Jr, also the designer for the Shinwa Group.

Among the Japanese guests were:
Mr Hiromasa Kokufu (president of Shinwa Golf Group) who was here with his spouse and son, Mr Hiroyuki Shozude (Chief Operating Officer of Shinwa Golf Group), Mr Ryoichi Muto (Chief of General Affairs of Shinwa Golf Group).

Mr Kokufu is in his early 50s and speaks fluent English as he was educated in the United States. His father was the founder of Shinwa Group.
