Swimmer of the Year, Tennis Player of the Year, leading finishers of golf competitions, Best Improved Swimmer and Tennis Player of 2022, and more.
Almost two dozen and more sportsmen and sportswomen were honoured on Oct 9. In a short, the who’s who of sports at Tanah Merah Country Club attended the grand annual prize presentation event at the Tampines location.
Of course, on a grand day such as this, there has to be a competition to put the icing on the cake.
So, a two-ball scramble golf competition was staged prior to the presentation of awards at dinner.
And, even for the golf event, there was prizes galore.
Keifer Sim and Sim Chun Siang took top honours with a 61 net on countback from Bryan Ko and Rex Tan, with Tan Swee Seng and Rudy Johansen taking third place on the same score, beaten on countback.
There were also Nearest To Pin prizes for men and women, with Keifer featuring again.
Special mention also went to Lucas Soh for being Swimmer of the Year 2022 and Clara Tan for being Tennis Player of the Year.
About 160 members attended the dinner at the Tampines Banquet Room, of whom 133 competed in the golf event.
To put the diners in serenade mood, music was provided by former GC member Hia Hui Kim and friends.
