There is something truly magical about entering an evening filled with mystery, glamour, and timeless tradition.
Inspired by the grandeur of 15th-century European masquerade balls—symbols of opulence and intrigue during the Renaissance era—the theme of the Club’s New Year’s Eve Party, Masquerade Soirée, invited 144 members and guests to step into a realm of sophistication and allure, ushering in 2025 with style and grace at the Tampines Course.
The evening began with cocktails served in the Pre-Function Room, where members mingled, enjoying lively conversation and building anticipation for the festivities ahead. Upon checking in, members were handed masquerade masks, setting the tone for a night steeped in mystery and elegance.
They embraced the theme wholeheartedly, arriving dressed in stunning evening wear, with elaborate masks that added a touch of intrigue and charm. The atmosphere was one of opulence and enchantment, perfectly capturing the spirit of the Renaissance-inspired masquerade ball.
To enhance the evening’s sense of wonder, a roving mask magician moved through the crowd, delighting attendees with his sleight of hand and mesmerising illusions. His playful tricks left everyone captivated, seamlessly weaving magic into the masquerade experience.
The instant-print photo booth offered guests the chance to capture the magic of the night, providing a unique souvenir that immortalised the evening’s sense of enchantment and wonder.
Following the welcome address by the emcee, Mabir Singh, the event shifted into high gear with an ice-breaker game. Two teams competed in a spirited cheer-off, with the loudest cheers winning bottles of fine wine. The lively atmosphere set the stage for more fun throughout the evening.
Members also participated in the APT Dance Bingo, a dynamic segment featuring a special dance routine set to APT, a lively hit song by Rosé and Bruno Mars. The crowd got to their feet, fully embracing the rhythm and excitement of the game.
The dinner was a highlight of the evening, but the fun didn’t stop there. Guests joined in the Screen Game and Masquerade Treasure Hunt, both adding playful and competitive elements to the night. The Screen Game, titled “Memoirs of Singapore’s Places of Interest”, evoked a sense of nostalgia, as Members recalled some of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks and historical places.
To add spice to the evening celebrations, popular band Shagies kept the energy alive with their vibrant and dynamic performance, perfectly matching the festive mood. The six-piece band delivered a mix of catchy covers, entertaining the crowd with their infectious energy. Members couldn’t resist the rhythm, and the dance floor was alive with movement as the band brought a fun, carnival-like atmosphere to the event, allowing everyone to enjoy every moment of the night.
The night’s excitement escalated with the first set of the Lucky Draw, where Vice President Mr. Chris Chiu presented prizes for 24th to 13th place. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as lucky winners claimed their prizes.
Following this, Club President Mr. Ronald Ong conducted the second set of the Lucky Draw, awarding prizes from 12th to 1st place, with the crowd cheering for every winner.
As the clock neared midnight, the emcee invited Members and the Club’s General Committee Members onto the dance floor to prepare for the eagerly awaited New Year’s Day countdown. The atmosphere was electric as everyone gathered in anticipation of the final moments of 2024, ready to welcome 2025 in style.

The GC Members, along with General Manager Mr. Elliott Gray, took to the stage to officiate the eagerly awaited countdown, infusing the moment with a sense of significance and anticipation. As the final seconds ticked away, the energy in the room surged, with everyone brimming with excitement, ready to embrace the arrival of a new year.
Then, the moment arrived: 10… 9… 8… 7… and, with a unified cheer, the room erupted in a resounding “HAPPY NEW YEAR!”. Confetti cascaded from the ceiling, transforming the dance floor into a vibrant kaleidoscope of colour.
The crowd’s exuberant cheers intensified as the live band lifted the atmosphere with their electrifying rhythms, further fuelling the excitement.
The festivities continued without pause as the band kept the tempo high, ensuring the celebration remained alive. Members and guests danced freely, fully immersed in the joy of the moment, while the music carried into the early hours of 2025, ensuring the night would be etched in memory for years to come.
Members of all ages, even those who are usually reserved, letting go and enjoying the atmosphere. The celebratory mood brought everyone together, ensuring a night full of laughter and camaraderie.
As the energy of the night began to ebb, weary legs were rewarded with a hearty Teochew-style supper.
The event concluded with laughter, lively conversations, and a sense of contentment as Members relaxed after a night filled with fun, camaraderie, and celebration, before heading home to rest and reflect on the unforgettable start to 2025.
