The fine fairways of Tanah Merah Country Club have been the welcome carpet that has beguiled world leaders, royalties, golf luminaries, and celebrities alike.
On Monday, 13 November 2023, Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC) played host to His Majesty, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVI of Malaysia, at Garden Course.
His Majesty, an avid golf enthusiast, made an illustrious visit to the Garden Course, drawing attention not only for his regal presence but also for his shared passion for the sport.
On arrival at the Garden Course at about 8:00am, Their Majesties as well as members of the Royal Family were greeted with utmost reverence and cordiality by Club Chairman, Mr Ng Kee Choe, Club President Mr Ronald Ong and General Manager, Elliott Gray.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and respect as His Majesty navigated the fairways and greens, showcasing both skill and grace in each swing. More than just a recreational pursuit, his presence on the golf course was also a testament to the shared love for the game that transcends borders and societal roles.
Following a hearty round of golf, the Club hosted a luncheon for the Their Majesties and the royals. Their Majesties depart Garden Course at about 1:30pm.
The King’s warm and down-to-earth personality has certainly left an indelible mark on the hearts of both the Members and staff of TMCC.
