How else to enjoy a Mixed Double event with Valentine’s Day theme

Heart, heart, heart.
And it was all about hearts.
No surprise that.
How else to spread the word about love on Valentine’s Day?
So there you had it.
Heart logos on shirts, caps, balloons, buggies, banners and all over the Tampines course.
The inaugural Mixed Double Golf Championship, with Valentine’s Day as the theme, was held on Feb 11 as a prelude to the big day three days later.

And it was interesting that some pairings were married couples.
The format of play was Four-Ball- Best-Ball, two-person per team and the best nett score (of each hole) between the two players were counted.
David Ong and Caroline Ong won the best-dressed award against a posse of pairings who were certainly in contention.
The weather was ideal, and the golf game lived up to expectations.
Teamwork and chemistry were two factors used to decide the prize winners.
Melvin Choo and Michelle Ang finished first in the golf event with a 64 nett score to claim the challenge trophy.

Other winners:

2nd: Alex Thian and Sue Yap 65 nett.
3rd: Yeo Kwee Soon and June Yeo 67 nett ocb.
4th George Madhavan and Lee Eet Fong 67 nett ocb.
5th: Peter Seow and Loh Kah Ing 67 nett.
A sumptuous buffet dinner saw the attendees enjoy the delicious spread during which novelty prizes were also given.
