TMCC Ladies Social - Love Is In The Air

When Players Felt the Power of LOVE All Around

Godfrey Robert

“Love Is In The Air, Everywhere I look around, Love Is In The Air, Every sight and every sound”

This rendition by John Paul Young would not feel out of place at a golf tournament at the Tampines course on February 19th. For 52 lady golfers felt deeply so when they turned up for a golf tournament.

It was a tournament no doubt, but all that is to competition played second fiddle. For all the attributes of love, namely, patience, trust, kindness, unselfishness, forgiveness and sportsmanship were displayed by the 26 pairs in the Double Peoria Stableford competition format with never an obsession of winning.

The social event lived up to its name: “Love Is In The Air” on a mostly sunny day with moderate winds. To add to the fun and laughter to the event party games were well received, thanks to Nina Um. Nina produced three games which raised the energy in the room. There was also a best dressed competition with a Valentine theme.

Adding a touch of elegance to the event, Dejade Jewellery had a special showcase of their Exquisite Jadeite and Diamond Jewellery, which was met with much admiration from the participants. In addition, Dejade Jewellery generously sponsored a jewellery box as a door gift for each participant, a gesture that received much thanks.

Thanks also to Nico Mo, Nina Um, Florence Chia, Tham Sheau Lan and Lady Captain Wendy Soh and Dimple Golf sponsorship.

During the dinner segment at the Tampines Pre-Function Room, a delicious spread of food was served. The excitement continued with a lucky draw, where the first prize was the “Katherine Collection 18K Lavender Jadeite, Sapphire and Emerald Pendant“, and the second prize was the “RAW Collection Green Jadeite Pendant“, both generously sponsored by Dejade Jewellery.

Prizes were presented by Ladies Sub Committee Member Crystal Low (novelty hole winners), Ladies Sub Committee Member Florence Chia (best dress winners), Director of Golf Brodie MacDonald (Lucky 7) and Lady Captain Wendy Soh (best three teams).

About Dejade Jewellery

The story of Dejade can be traced back to 1971 when our founder’s father cut his first stone. The symbolism and mythology of jade fascinated him and fuelled his dedication to becoming a master craftsman. Over time he learnt about the intricacies of cutting jade and selecting rough jade directly from the source in Myanmar, where the world’s finest jade comes from. The value of jade is very difficult to ascertain and therefore its selection requires tremendous expertise acquired over a lifetime of experience. From his business on Canton Road’s renowned “Jade Street” he refined his skills for over 50 years, supplying jade to buyers all over the world. For more information, visit: www.dejade.sg
